Where it stands today

The beta is free to join. Testers come in batches, in signup order. Badminton and pickleball are the deepest sports so far, and each has its own match card.

A result only counts when both players sign it.

  1. You play. The match is just a match until somebody logs it.
  2. You log it.Tell the manager the score. It writes the result up.
  3. Your opponent signs. They have 48 hours. Silence is not a rejection.
  4. Your rating moves.Only now, and only by what the score earned.

Your rank, with your neighbours.

The ladder shows who is just above and just below you, not only the top of the table. That is the gap you can actually close. Your first ten matches are provisional, so it says so.

Three rules keep the score honest.

Both players sign the score.

You log it, and your opponent confirms it. They get 48 hours, and silence is not a rejection, so a missed notification never costs anyone a match. If you both reject the score, you both lose 5% of your rating, so you sort it out.

Your first ten matches are provisional.

The rating moves faster until you have played ten, then it settles. The margin counts too: a 21-3 says more than a 21-19. An early loss costs less than you think.

The number you pick at signup is locked.

You rate yourself from 1 to 10, once, and it never changes. Your real rating comes only from matches you have played, so nobody can argue with it, including you.

The real app. Eighty seconds.

A screen recording of the beta, not a mockup. Pick a chapter to jump to it.

Recorded on a demo account. The matches in it were logged and countersigned through the app.

Every verified match becomes a card.

The score, where you stand, and a line from the court. Post it to your story in one tap. The card exists only once your opponent has signed the score, so the number on it is real.

Badminton and pickleball cards today. Other sports follow. The names and numbers on these cards are made up.

Naman Dudhoria, founder of Sportzey

I couldn't be an athlete. But I wanted to feel like one.

Like every competitive person, I wanted that athletic feeling: the rush of competition, the thrill of improving, the camaraderie of a team. Life took me down a different path. So I asked a simple question: how do I create that experience for myself, and for millions like me?

Questions people ask.

What is Sportzey?

Sportzey is a free sports app for amateur players in India. You tell it who you played and the score, it logs the match, your opponent countersigns it, and your skill rating moves only on verified results. It is in closed beta, and joining is free.

How does the rating work?

You rate yourself from 1 to 10 once, at signup, and that number is locked. After that, your rating comes only from matches you play. Your first ten matches are provisional, so the rating moves faster, then it settles. The margin of victory counts too.

What does it mean that both players sign the score?

You log the result and your opponent confirms it. They have 48 hours, and silence is not treated as a rejection. If both players reject the score, both lose 5% of their rating, so disputes get settled.

Is Sportzey free?

Joining the closed beta is free.

Which sports does it support?

Badminton and pickleball are the deepest today, and they are the only sports with shareable match cards so far. Cricket, football, running and cycling are on the sign-up list and follow.
